Ice Age Trail (Monches & Merton Segments)

Couldn't ask for better weather in late January.  These segments brought me past different bodies of moving water which you could hear/see under the ice.  There was also a lot of places that had feathers and blood scattered on the snow.  I have a feeling the raccoons in this area won't go hungry anytime soon.  The rails to trails area was pretty boring but all in all not a bad trail.

(A little Monches history)
(I didn't get to the end of this segment til today)
(Interesting history on a conservationist)
(Cool Rock)
(It was really cool to hear and see the water under the ice)
(The south end of Monches Segment)
(A tatted up railroad bridge)
(North part of the Merton Segment while eating a granola bar)
(Seen on the rails to trails)
(Just before turning on to Tamron Dr.)
(Cool marker with the Cedar bark)
(If I woulda been someone, we woulda ate here after the trail in Monches)

Ice Age Trail (Donegal Rd. & Loew Lake Segment)

I had to get back out on the IAT (it was calling my name).  This was a nice segment that I think would be way more beautiful in the fall, spring or even summer or even if today would have been sunny.  I used my new Bluetooth earbuds which was nice too.  Thankful once again than Susan lets me do this.  Get outside!

Ice Age Trail (Pike Lake Segment & Holy Hill Segment)

My first Ice Age hike of 2016.  Hiking in the snow was very tough!  I had to blaze my own path a number of times.  I tried using my yak trax but I think it worked better without them in the hard snow.  The Holy Hill Segment was much more packed down in the southern part of the segment.  It was so good to be back out on the trail!  My legs are burning.  So thankful my families letting me do this!
