What a morning of jogging and hiking and walking. I ran the entire connector from Paradise Dr. to CTH NN (5.5 miles, very hilly with areas of little to no shoulder). Susan was busy with the kids at a park so I continued on completing both the Cedar Lake segment and strolling through the town of Slinger and its segment. People were both skiing and mtn. biking at Little Switzerland. I finished off by doing the first part of the Pike Lake Segment with Clarissa and Silas . It was so nice having Susan drive so I didn't have to go back by bike.

Ice Age Trail: Southern Kewaskum Segment & West Bend Segment
A good long hike today. Saw a deer and a bunch of squirrels and ducks and Culver's literally right next to the trail. A part of the West Bend Segment (Silver Creek) is easily the most beautiful part of the IAT that I have experienced thus far! A lot of hardwoods I this part. It would be nice to go through here when the leafs are on the trees. This El NiƱo warm weather stuff in December is very nice!

Ice Age Trail (Kewaskum & Milwaukee River Segments (Ridge Rd. --> CTH-H)
My phone died at US-45 so I have to plug this in afterwards instead. This hike was a bit more flat than what I had done earlier in the day, with some hills at the beginning, skirting farm fields and even crossing diagonally through a corn field. After sliding down a snowy Jill at Sunburst Ski Area and walking under US-45 in a low tunnel. The travel continued around farm fields and swamps/bogs. My phone dyeing was a blessing in disguise as I spent the rest of the time praying for family and friends. Man I love the woods!
Ice Age Trail (Milwaukee River Segment: CTH-H --> New Fane)
A bit of a muddy cool day, but as always getting in the woods and on the trail allows me to clear my mind. I also listened to Matt Chandler's sermon from John 14 and Acts 1 on Jesus' Ascension. I'm so thankful Susan has allowed me to pursue this goal. Hoping to hit a couple more miles in a few minutes.
Ice Age Trail (Milwaukee River Segment: Mauthe Lake --> New Fane)
I thought it would be good to get a segment in before firearm deer season. Silas and I slowly meandered through this section. He's a trooper and keeps those legs moving. I have pain on the ball of my left foot (thus why I didn't run today) that I hope is nothing major. As usual, good to be outside especially with my son!
Ice Age Trail (Manitowoc Segment: Broadway --> 21st St.)
Ice Age Trail Connector (Lower Cato Falls Cty. Park --> Alverno)
Finally completed this connector. Had an encounter with a golden retriever and his owner who was unaware the trail even went through his road. Nice guy who offered me to stop by if I was ever in the area. I guess saving a dog from possibly getting hit by a car has its perks. Saw a nice buck on Middle Rd. It's definitely getting cooler out. Nice to have Susan bring me and then pick me up while her and the kids went to the park.
