Meaningless!

Whelp, I thought I'd try this blog thing once again. I figure sometimes I have some thoughts and maybe just maybe somebody might have some thoughts to plop onto my thoughts. So away we go!

Shoot! I'll even add thoughts for today on here:

As the school year's end draws near I get excited with anticipation for what the summer might bring and the opportunity to be refreshed before coming into the next school year for programming. However, summer is not necessarily any less busy than the rest of the year. I mean sure I don't have regular youth meetings and stuff like that, but with a mission trip in the works, and "summer fun" to plan it is just as busy if not more. I like being busy though, it keeps me from being lazy.
It's interesting to me...Susan and I have been reading through the Bible this year and last night we were reading through Ecclesiastes where it talks about everything being meaningless. We think we're pretty important people that what we do today is the newest thing that has ever happenned in our lives, when in reality chances are something like it, if not the same thing has happenned in the past and will happen again (confused yet). I guess what I'm trying to say is that if we think we are the man or woman it is easy to look to the left or right, up or down and recognize that we are no better or worse than the person next to us.
For me this means while I put stuff together for the summer even though I want to put the best 3 months together possible, I must remind myself if I am not focused on the purpose for any of this it too is meaningless. As Colossians 3:2 says I must "set my mind on things above, not on earthly things."
Whatever you are doing today remember to do it for the glory of God or else it is nothing but meaningless.
